dude dean would love the hell out of hermione. like, 1) TOTALLY THE PIE THING 2) can you imagine the potions she could make for them? they might taste like condensed death, but they’d totally rock as an alternative to cas’s angel mojo. furthermore, apparition: the first time dean experiences it, he digs it. all the positives of cas flying, but none of the stopped up bowels (i imagine portkeying to be the same as cas flying, though. so like, apparition > cas stuff > portkeys)

i read a fic that actually touched on harry as a special child - i will have to hunt down the link in a bit - and while the fic didn’t go the way i would have written it, i definitely think it’s an AWESOME idea. harry has so much potential to have a GREAT relationship with sam - like, the way that hermione is basically the golden trio’s sam, harry is totally their dean, and dean+hermione and sam+harry not being related but still being relatively similar personalities GIVES THEM SO MANY OPTIONS because dean would probably still bitch about the know-it-all-attitude, but he could also not pretend to be incompetent for once (i watched “wishful thinking” - the wishing well episode? last night, and when sam sends him off to research that coin dean tears through that stuff. it seems like there’s really strong canonical evidence for dean being much smarter than he is willing to act or receive credit for, and i can kind of imagine him brain-broing it out with hermione because she hasn’t experienced all the things he and sam have, but she also has experience (AND BOOKS) of her own)

meanwhile, sam and harry are talking about how their lives suck because evil people seek them out, you know? and sam’s like ‘i used to have visions and i could exorcise stuff with my brain but dean didn’t like it’ and then harry says ‘I USED TO HAVE VISIONS TOO. worst headache ever, right? and i can also talk to snakes. pariah all the way through school for it, but it was super handy. i mean, no one liked that i could do it, but it was useful to me so i did it when i needed to, right?’ and sam is basically falling all over himself going ‘EXACTLY. dean spent time in hell and i had to go on and avenge him by getting rid of as many demons as i could, and the safest way for me to do that was with my power. i was just trying my best to keep myself safe and still get the job done, no matter how he felt about it. i do regret drinking ruby’s blood though’ and harry is totally blown away by the way that sam actually exacerbated his connection with that dark part of him, but they still have so many similar experiences that they can really identify and i bet they learn a lot of things from one another

ron would be the best re: handling unusual supernatural creatures. maybe the dragons don’t even kidnap him in a … dangerous way. like, they need someone to serve as a liason for them and they’ve heard about charlie, so they figure that working with ron isn’t a bad idea (i imagine dragons to be a lot more… chill on this side of the pond. or maybe they just have a really important idea that they need to get across. i imagine tying down/controlling one full-grown dragon by yourself is super tough, so ron overpowering them would be really hard to envision - what if he gets charlie over there though and they bro out while overpowering notnice!dragons?! AWESOME) but yeah, who even needs eyebrows

oh my god why would you even do that to me ;-; and what if the angels had heard about lily potter up in heaven - like, she’s one of their prime examples to the positive aspects of humanity, super full of love and devotion to her family - and cas sees harry and after he gets over the whole ‘righteous man v 3.0 thing’ he’s like, wait, i know you

1. MAGIC IS SO USEFUL! MAGIC IS SO. USEFUL. honestly I have never been sure why the winchesters don’t learn more spellwork themselves, it can obviously be used in constructive ways as well as evil ways, and frankly I think it would save them a lot of trouble. I guess they do a fair number of spells that involve body parts in bowls with chanting, but still. POLYJUICE POTION WOULD SOLVE THEIR FBI PROBLEM IN A SNAP.

2. AAAAAAHHHHHH HARRY/SAM. THE DEMON CONVERSATION, THE DARKNESS WITHINNNNN. also holy crap how much do I love the idea of hermione tricking dean into revealing his secret smartness? also does this mean ron is their cas? hanging around awkwardly, eating a lot of hamburgers, missing many references? aw snap now I want ron to have a bunch of secretly badass powers that go totally ignored and/or harry misunderstands so he represses them. MAYBE THIS RELATES TO HIS ABILITY TO BRO WITH MONSTERS, MAYBE ALL THIS TIME HE HAS BEEN JEALOUS OF HARRY’S PARSELMOUTH ABILITIES BUT REALLY THE CREATURES HE CAN TALK TO ARE WAY COOLER.

but, ooh, what if harry was one of the special children slated for lucifer’s vessel?? heir of slytherin feelings, harry is sick to fucking death of being ~chosen~ by these evil forces and having everyone assume he’s a monster—which let’s be honest the winchesters probably think for the first six months of their acquaintance—but then maybe he finds out that sam has demon blood too and he is like “so why do you assume we are evil if you know what it’s like” and then harry/sam whoops
